Trainwreck Tim Walz wanted adult illegal alien “free” healthcare removed from the budget, and he GAVE it to Republicans. They didn’t “win” it through tough negotiation.
Why?
- Most importantly Governor Gavin Newscum and Governor JB Pritzker are deleting their states’ “free” illegal alien healthcare program cuz they know it’s a liability as an “80/20 issue” they are on the wrong side of. These 2 are Walz’s Democrat opposition to RUN FOR PRESIDENT. He cannot be more extreme than the competition.
- As Senator Andrew Matthew’s stated in his last floor speech this year, the “free” illegal alien healthcare program was originally staffed and budgeted for only 5000 participants and has grown to over 20,000! Walz agreed to only give up the adult illegals in that 20,000. Illegal alien minors still remain on the “free” healthcare program and reports they are 25% of the total sign-ups. 25% x 20,000 = 5000 illegal aliens still on the program. Boom, adults off but the minor illegals remaining still consume the total original Trifecta Budget amount and state paid program and staffing. NO BUDGET CUTS BY REMOVING “ADULT” ILLEGALS, NO PROGRAM CUTS, NO STATE EMPLOYEE CUTS and the adults are still allowed “free” healthcare until January 2026.
- See above, there was no money in the Trifecta Budget renewal to continue funding ADULT illegal aliens without cutting another Democrat priority program or govt union jobs. Too bad, so sad, the only people actually cut off from “freebies” can’t vote.
- Walz and Dem Legislature leadership convinced the Republicans to take ownership of canceling the program and allow a full day of legislature complaining by the Democrat base to blame the Republicans for cutting it so Walz was not to blame.
- Adult freebie cancelation came just in time for US Congress testimony in DC, so Trainwreck could testify the State of MN is backtracking on freebies for illegals.
- Walz knew the media would blame Republicans and Republicans would also take the credit for partially reducing one program that saved $0 in the budget as their “victory”.
Does anybody with knowledge of the Republican legislature leadership actually think they are seasoned enough to have thread the needle of the math and budget as described above, and demanded this outcome? We dont. Walz wanted an illegal freebie gone and even managed to do it in such a way he had to cut $0 from the budget, fire or repurpose zero govt employees or programs, and place all blame from his base squarely on Republicans. Walz even got Republicans to vote to fully fund “free” healthcare for illegal minors, “free” illegal alien college , and the myriad of other programs illegal aliens qualify for in MN and brag how awesome the budget deal was…..
Trainwreck Walz may be a disaster, but he isn’t an idiot. He wanted free adult illegal alien healthcare gone, and did it in such a way his own party can’t blame him. This outcome was also a testimony to the leadership and negotiation skills of Rep. Melissa Hortman, God Rest Her Soul, to guarantee the final outcome.
